Hermits Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
|
Despite a great performance by Tennoji HS starter Noriyuki Shini, the Taitung HS Hermits defeated the Sensei by the score of 4-2 at The Institute today. Shini threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, but he couldn't prevent the Hermits from moving one game closer to the Round 2. Taitung HS now leads the Round 1 3-0.
The result might have been different for Taitung HS, had it not been for Sy-ing Fok, the 15-year old first baseman . Fok stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Taitung HS up, 4-2. For the game, he had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Fok, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Institute in Osaka.
