When the games really matter, the Eton Rifles put on their best show, beating the Dublin Shamrocks by a final score of 5-3 today. Rhys Crosse slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Eton now leads Dublin 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Crosse delivered big-time for Eton, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Robert Hannay. The game-changing hit put the Rifles on top, 5-3.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Eton manager Tom Barkley said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dublin Stadium in Dublin.
