Scarth Blasts Spartans, Battlecats Take Game 6, 6-3
The Canuck HS Battlecats and the Bowness HS Spartans will take the Round 1 to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Battlecats beat the Spartans 6-3 at Bowness HS Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Canuck HS first baseman Lewis Scarth was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs.

Canuck HS used the bat of Pedro Castro to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Battlecats ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"We played hard and won," said Scarth. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bowness HS Ballpark in Calgary.
