DeSoto Central HS Win to Pull Even With Cy-Fair HS
|
The DeSoto Central HS Panthers topped the Cy-Fair HS Bobcats by the score of 4-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Round 1 today. The largest share of the credit belongs to DeSoto Central HS starter Eduardo León, who threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball in the win.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Panthers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when third baseman Artie Hughes hit a 2-run triple. The triple came off Elmer Murphy and made the score 2-0, Panthers. Hughes went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said DeSoto Central HS skipper Roberto Mendoza.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, April 29th , 2040 at DeSoto Central Grounds in Southaven.
