Road Win Lifts De La Salle HS to 1-0 Lead in R1
The De La Salle HS Myrmidon started the Round 1 in style today, winning on the road against the Horizon HS Huskies at Horizon HS Grounds by a score of 5-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Myrmidon left-hander Chris Helton threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball.

De La Salle HS used the clutch hitting of Ramiro Garza to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Myrmidon ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Garza said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Horizon HS Grounds in Scottsdale.
