Horizon HS Wins to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
The Horizon HS Huskies have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading De La Salle HS Myrmidon, winning 8-1 at Myrmidon Ballpark today. Huskies left-hander Keith Martínez threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Huskies to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Round 1.
Horizon HS used a well-timed hit by Luis Padilla to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Huskies ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
De La Salle HS manager Salvador Díaz said his team was "out of sync."
Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at Horizon HS Grounds in Scottsdale.
