Raucous Meridian Park Crowd Propels Grizzlies to 4-0 Victory; Series Tied at 3
|
The Rocky Mountain HS Grizzlies and the Bellevue West HS Surge will take the Round 1 to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Grizzlies shut out the Surge 4-0 at Meridian Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Rocky Mountain HS right-hander Joshua Hansen did his part. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball.
Rocky Mountain HS grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Paul Hoover delivered a 2-run single, to make it 2-0 in favor of the Grizzlies.
"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Rocky Mountain HS manager Aurelio López told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Round 1, it's only going to get harder."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Meridian Park in Meridian.
