On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Castle HS Lords team, Cale Roberts had a tough assignment. He delivered.

The Jesuit HS Corsairs right-hander dominated the hosts, tossing 6.2 innings of shutout ball and guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 2-0. Roberts, 19, threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball in the contest. The win means Jesuit HS now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

The outcome hung in the balance with two down in the top of the eighth. With a runner on 1st and Castle HS trailing 1-0, William Foster lined out. It was a big out for Jesuit HS pitcher Jim Elliott.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Jesuit HS in Carmichael.
