Road Win Lifts Bowness HS to 3-2 Lead in R1
|
In a pivotal Game 5, the Bowness HS Spartans were hoping for a big game from starter Craig Hurley. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Hildegard Saints, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 4-0 victory. The Spartans took the 4-0 win over the Hildegard Saints to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The win was a team effort for Bowness HS. First Baseman Colin Leslie was among the key contributors. In the top of the second, he put his team in front, 1-0, when he hit a solo home run.
"This team is championship material," Hurley told BNN reporters after the game. "I can see it when I look around the clubhouse. We've still got a long way to go, but I know this team."
The next game is set to be played for Monday, May 2nd , 2039 at Bowness HS Ballpark in Calgary.
