While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the Port Lincoln HS Trawlers showed themselves to be the superior team in the Round 2, downing the Dunedin HS Scots 4-1.

"Nothing is ever easy in the International High School Athletic Association playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Naizen Kurihara, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance.

Port Lincoln HS won the final game by a 3-2 count at Trawlers Ballpark to clinch its spot in the next round.

They will hope to once again rely on Kurihara there, as he hit .500 with 0 home runs, 3 RBI 2 runs scored during the series.

The Port Lincoln HS Trawlers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Taitung HS Hermits - Manila HS Water Buffalo series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
