The Taitung HS Hermits got a strong performance from pitcher Owen MacIlroy, who stymied the visiting Manila HS Water Buffalo en route to a win, 5-3, in Game 2 of the Round 2 today. The Water Buffalo could never get a bead on the right-handed MacIlroy, who threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The Hermits now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

In the top of the ninth, Konosuke Wada stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Water Buffalo were trailing 5-3, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when You-liang Zhu made a terrific pitch and Wada grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Manila HS comeback.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, May 7th , 2040 at Manila Field in Manila.
