The Kailua Hanso called upon starter Ching Yei, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Kobayashi Fireflies, 5-1. The 4th-place Hanso have won 5 consecutive games.

The Fireflies had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Hanso going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old second baseman Alfredo Vargas came to the plate. Vargas hit a 2-run double on a 3-1 fastball from Kobayashi hurler Gilberto Gómez. It was Vargas's 13th double of the year.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Yei. "More importantly, I had a good game."
