Halberds Suffer 7-3 Setback
|
Recoil Stadium was the site for Hawaiian League action featuring the Shirakawa Halberds and Mauna Loa Vulcans.
The Mauna Loa Vulcans had to overcome a big game from Shirakawa third baseman Blair Vessy to leave Recoil Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 7-3. Vessy was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Mauna Loa is now 59-49, while Shirakawa is 31-77.
One of the key players for the Vulcans was shortstop Juan García, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning. For the game, García was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
