The Yasu Storks got a superb performance from pitcher Edward García. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Maui. The Mahi-Mahi won the game, 4-3. García threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Jack Reid earned his 13th save in 15 chances. The Mahi-Mahi raised their record to 53-56.

Maui used a timely hit from Masaki Koshin to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mahi-Mahi ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said Koshin. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
