Barrow Tops Fairbanks Again, 4-3
|
The Barrow Arctic Blast moved to within one game of the Divisional today, downing the visiting Fairbanks Grunts at Ballpark of Carthage by a score of 4-3. Arctic Blast right-hander Juan Vega had a strong outing in which he threw 7.1 innings of 1-hit ball. The win gives the Arctic Blast a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Wild Card.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Vega kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Barrow offense came through. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 1 hit and 2 runs, while striking out 5.
When asked about his performance after the game, Vega said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 2nd , 2039 at Ballpark of Cave Springs in Fairbanks.
