Núñez, Vulcans Sink Swamp Dragons Again in Game 2
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Ernesto Núñez, the Mauna Loa Vulcans flattened the Osakasayama Swamp Dragons, 15-4, in Game 2 of the Wild Card today. Núñez hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for the Vulcans, who now lead 2-0 in the best-of-5 series.

Mauna Loa used the bat of Motoyuki Kojima to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Vulcans ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Mauna Loa manager Nelson Anderson told reporters.

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Recoil Stadium in Captain Cook.
