Divisional Game 1 Victory for Hashimoto and Ewa Beach
The Divisional got off to a quiet start today, with the host Ewa Beach Imperialists taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Mauna Loa Vulcans. Ewa Beach left-hander Tetsuzan Hashimoto was marvelous at Rison Grounds. The Imperialists now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

In his 102-pitch effort, Hashimoto allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 6.

"Tough loss," said Mauna Loa manager Nelson Anderson. "But we'll learn from it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rison Grounds in Ewa Beach.
