Vulcans Clip Imperialists 1-0 in R2 Contest
The Mauna Loa Vulcans defeated the Ewa Beach Imperialists, 1-0, in Game 2 of the Divisional. Doing his part was starter Matsuo Yamashita, who threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The win moves Mauna Loa into a 1-1 tie with Ewa Beach in the series.

The Vulcans liked what they saw from Yamashita. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Imperialists to no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 5.

"There's nothing like the postseason," said Yamashita, "to ramp up the pressure."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Recoil Stadium in Captain Cook.
