Home Field Advantage: López, Ewa Beach Open Championship with Win
The Ewa Beach Imperialists started the Championship in dominant fashion today, blowing out the visiting Waimalu Nene at Rison Grounds by a score of 12-1 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Imperialists right-hander Jorge López turned in a fine performance. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball.

López allowed no runs over 8 innings. He also racked up 11 strikeouts.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jonathan Cook said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rison Grounds in Ewa Beach.
