Gökalp Blasts Imperialists, Nene Take Game 5, 4-2
The Waimalu Nene have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Ewa Beach Imperialists, winning 4-2 at Waimalu Grounds today. Nene designated hitter Robert Gökalp hit 2 home runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Nene to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Championship.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Gökalp, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2036 draft, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Nene into the lead, 2-1.

After the game, Waimalu manager Carlos Rivera applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 22nd , 2039 at Rison Grounds in Ewa Beach.
