Imperialists Hammered by Ramos, Drop Game 4 to Mighty Moose
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Ewa Beach Imperialists team, the Anchorage Mighty Moose had a tough assignment. Arturo Ramos delivered.
The Mighty Moose first baseman was unstoppable for the visitors, as he went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 9-7. Ramos, 23, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Anchorage now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
The Mighty Moose took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Facing Ewa Beach hurler Iván Enríquez with one out, Ramos hit a run-scoring single.
"It felt like they almost stopped play a couple times, but it just held off," Ramos said of the rain that threatened throughout much of the game. "Not great conditions for playoff baseball."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citizens Ballpark in Anchorage.
