The timely hitting of Robert Gökalp helped the Narragansett Seagulls down the Santurce Castillos, 5-4. Gökalp was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Seagulls. Shoji Katsu, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Seagulls raised their record to 20-13.

Narragansett took a 5-4 lead on Tom Patton's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Patton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Santurce pitcher Terao Ine shaking his head.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Gökalp said in reaction to the win.
