Hitmen Lose Late, 4-3
|
Conditions were not ideal but Hartford and New Jersey were able to put their game in the books.
The New Jersey Hitmen got a superb performance from pitcher Ken Stewart, but the Hartford Harpoon still won the game, 4-3. Stewart threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Hartford reliever Fernando Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Robin Castano took the loss.
Hartford took a 4-3 lead on Henry Davis's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Davis hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New Jersey pitcher Alex Cox visibly frustrated.
Davis called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The victory makes Hartford 11-21.
