Wallabies Shimmy Past Unicorns, 4-3
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the University of Sydney Wallabies got the win.
The Wallabies grabbed a win, 4-3, at Ballpark of Katsuura College, overcoming a fine effort from Keio University pitcher Tsuyoshi Yano. Yano went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. Adrian Moylan, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings.
University of Sydney used a clutch hit from Andy Harman to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wallabies ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Harman, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
With the win, University of Sydney elevates its record to 2-1.
