Asai Powers Mighty Missionaries to 6-4 Win
|
With left fielder Ken Asai leading the charge, the Aoyama Gakuin Mighty Missionaries defeated the Jeju City University Eruption, 6-4, at Caracals Stadium. Asai went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Aoyama Gakuin starter Christiaan Krol was credited with the win after throwing 82 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The win has Aoyama Gakuin at 2-3.
With Aoyama Gakuin trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Asai hit a fastball from Tu-chin Pak for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Mighty Missionaries ahead, 4-3.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Asai said.
