Rikkyo University Topples Hosei University, 7-0

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Rikkyo University Bishops beat the Hosei University Avocat, 7-0, at Federals Ballpark. Tekkan Kojima, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Rikkyo University reliever Víctor Cervantes picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Nobuyoki Suzuki absorbed the loss.
Noboru Matsumoto came through for Rikkyo University when he hit a 2-run single in the top of the third. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a full count fastball to center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Matsumoto, "and then get after it again."
Rikkyo University's record now stands at 8-7, placing them third in the Pacific League Tokyo Big6 Division.
