The Taitung HS Hermits knocked off the Yeosu HS Porpoises, 6-5, at Yeosu Field. Hi-yuan Chong produced 1 single and 1 double, while scoring 1 run and driving in 2. Reliever En-lai Pao picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Kang-il Yi took the loss. The win puts Taitung HS at 6-3.
Taitung HS used the timely hitting of Todd Powell to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hermits on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is the only objective," said Powell after the game.
