|
Port Lincoln HS Trawlers starter Roy Pickford was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Zhoushan HS Islanders, 7-0. Pickford got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Pickford allowed no runs. Sebastian Lane picked up the save, his 1st.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Trawlers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when first baseman Jelmar Rikxoort hit a 2-run single. The single came off Matsu Fujita and made the score 2-0, Trawlers. Rikxoort went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"This game will humble you real quick," said Zhoushan HS manager Naofumi Hayashi.
Port Lincoln HS is now 12-2, while Zhoushan HS is 7-7.
