The Port Lincoln HS Trawlers took Andong HS pitcher Masutaro Ashia's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Andong Park. The final score had Port Lincoln HS getting past the Folk Warriors, 6-5. Ashia went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 2. Port Lincoln HS reliever Toyoharu Sanu was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Chang-soo Yi took the loss. The Folk Warriors, now 8-8, have lost 5 straight.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Edward Thornton came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Andong HS pitcher Chang-soo Yi, he hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Port Lincoln HS on top, 6-5.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Thornton said.
