Chikafuji Goes Deep Twice in 3-2 Cockatoos Win
|
Curtin University beat Keio University in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Behind a fine performance from Kiminobu Chikafuji, the Curtin University Cockatoos knocked off the Keio University Unicorns, 3-2. Chikafuji belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Cockatoos. Reginald Steedman picked up the win in relief for Curtin University, while Tsuyoshi Yano took the loss.
Chikafuji had a timely hit for Curtin University in the top of the sixth. With Keio University trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch knuckle curve into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Curtin University.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Curtin University skipper Naozane Watanabe.
The loss makes Keio University 23-21.
