The Meiji University Troika got a stellar performance from pitcher Matt Mangan, who handcuffed the University of Queensland offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Ballpark of Queensland. Meiji University reliever Matt Mangan got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Cam Albertson was tagged with the loss. At 18-29, the Troika are currently last in the Pacific League Tokyo Big6 Division.

Meiji University used a well-timed hit by Chip Foster to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Troika ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said University of Queensland manager Augusto Rodríguez. "But we decided not to take it."
