In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Luigi Roneberg never let the Fire get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Cockatoos to a win, 4-0. Roneberg, now 4-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Warren Beamish? The Curtin University designated hitter had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Cockatoos on top, 1-0. For the game, Beamish had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Beamish told the Curtin University Gazette.
Curtin University now sits at 33-19, while Chuo University falls to 21-31.
