Engineers Beat Physicists, 3-1
|
ETH Zurich wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Abdallah Faure, falling to the Delft Engineers, 3-1. Faure threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Freek Aarsen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Abdallah Faure was tagged with the loss. The victory makes Delft 5-2.
Delft took a 2-1 lead on Ben Switzer's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Switzer hit in the bottom of the seventh, left ETH Zurich pitcher Abdallah Faure visibly frustrated.
Switzer said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
