3 Boomers for Martínez Wednesday, April 21st , 2038 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Lorenzo Martínez did today at Carrollton Ballpark, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 8-3. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Martínez said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Moody HS Trojans third baseman blistered the Carrollton HS Brawlers for 3 hits, batted in 4 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Carrollton HS manager Scott Simpson said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Lorenzo Martínez flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Otis Mack in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Shawn Taylor in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Armando García in the 7th and walked in the 9th. This season Martínez has hit at a .282 clip with 28 RBIs, 9 home runs and 21 runs scored. |
