Sánchez Clobbers 3 HR Against Bruins Thursday, March 10th , 2039 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Wilson Classical HS Bruins today. Rio Rancho HS first baseman Jesús Sánchez tripled up on the home runs to propel the Goats to the 16-3 win at Bruins Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Wilson Classical HS manager Román Guerrero said. "Sánchez hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Sánchez collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Jesús Sánchez walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Dani Villalobos in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Les Turner in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Tony Pérez in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. In his stats this season, Sánchez has posted a batting average of .273 with 9 hits in 33 at-bats, 6 home runs and 13 RBIs. He has also scored 9 runs, walked 1 times and compiled a .314 OBP. |
