Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Vail Friday, April 1st , 2039 Elias Vail went yard three times in a Sarasota HS Sailors victory over the Bishop Moore HS Hornets at Sailors Ballpark today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Sarasota HS first baseman went 3-for-4 against Bishop Moore HS with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Sailors to the 10-5 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Elias Vail hit a solo-shot off Kip Trethewey in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Kip Trethewey in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Don Scott in the 8th. Vail is hitting .226 this year with 8 home runs and 22 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .250, 3 walks and scored 12 times. |
