Panthers Advance to Round 2 Saturday, April 30th , 2039 Advancing to the Round 2 was "never in doubt" for the DeSoto Central HS Panthers, said Alexis Crum. "The Central HS Wildcats are a great team, but we knew we were going to come out on top," Crum said after the Round 1 was clinched 4-1, with a 4-1 win at DeSoto Central Grounds. "If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet against us." Central HS manager Cliff Williams gave credit to the winners, saying he had expected his club to put up a better fight. Crum was named series MVP, on the strength of his 0.00 ERA over 6 innings pitched, with a 2-0 record and 9 strikeouts. The DeSoto Central HS Panthers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Union City HS Hillers - Palm Beach Gardens HS Gators series. Palm Beach Gardens HS leads the series 3 games to 2.
