Round 3 Goes the Distance, DeSoto Central HS Prevails Sunday, May 22nd , 2039 Depending on your loyalties, the Round 3 was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the DeSoto Central HS Panthers and the Seton Hall Prep Pirates giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Panthers came out on top, winning 3-1 at Pirates Ballpark today to take the series 4-3. "We're lucky to be going into the Round 4," said DeSoto Central HS pitcher Artie Hughes. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Hughes earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .320 average, with 2 home runs, 3 RBI and 4 runs scored. The DeSoto Central HS Panthers will play against the Chatsworth HS Chancellors in the next round. Chatsworth HS won their series against the De La Salle HS Myrmidon 4 games to 2.
