Going, Going, Gone! Garza Hits 3 Homers Friday, March 9th , 2040 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Tumwater HS Thunderhawks today. De La Salle HS left fielder Ramiro Garza tripled up on the home runs to propel the Myrmidon to the 13-3 win at Thunderhawk Field. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Tumwater HS manager Javier Cortéz said. "Garza hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Garza collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Ramiro Garza grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jason Page in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Kurt Horton in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Kurt Horton in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, Garza has compiled a .406 batting average in 9 games with a .424 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 8 runs. |
