Martínez Blasts 3 into Bleachers Wednesday, March 14th , 2040 Lorenzo Martínez was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 10-0 Moody HS Trojans triumph at DeSoto Central Grounds today. The 18-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Trojans past the DeSoto Central HS Panthers. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Martínez told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The third baseman went 4-for-4, rung up 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Lorenzo Martínez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Robert Jones in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Robert Jones in the 5th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Cam Allen in the 6th. Looking at his stats this year, Martínez has compiled a .350 batting average, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 12 runs. He has played in 12 games and scored 11 runs. |
