Sarasota HS Wins Round 1 Thursday, May 3rd , 2040 The Sarasota HS Sailors players celebrated joyously after winning the Round 1 over the Barbe HS Buccaneers tonight at Ballpark of Barbe HS. Sarasota HS punched its ticket to the Round 2 on the strength of a 1-0 win in the clinching game, which sealed a 4-2 series win. "Any time you win a playoff series as a professional it's exciting, but it's even more so when you do it against a team like Barbe HS," said series MVP Vaughan McLaghlan. "We don't know how the Round 2 is going to play out, but we hope it has the same outcome." Barbe HS manager Kevin Moore only spoke briefly to the media after the loss and said dropping the series is "crushing" for his team. For the series, McLaghlan had a 0.00 ERA over 7 innings pitched. He added 3 strikeouts with a 2-0 record. The Sarasota HS Sailors don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Winter Springs HS Bears - West Lauderdale HS Knights series. West Lauderdale HS leads the series 3 games to 2.
