Nakayama Slams 3 Deep for Kailua Tuesday, June 14th , 2039 Yoshikazu Nakayama went on an explosive hitting spree against the Kobayashi Fireflies at Blue Birds Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Kailua Hanso to the 6-3 win. The third baseman finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Nakayama said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Kobayashi skipper Patrick Wells said Nakayama was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Yoshikazu Nakayama hit a solo-shot off Ikemoto Kodo in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ikemoto Kodo in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lanny Donovan in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season Nakayama is batting .323 with 8 home runs, 15 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 31 at-bats, 4 walks and a .400 OBP. Nakayama has played in 8 games. |
