Whiskin Swats 3 HR Against Atsumi Tuesday, June 28th , 2039 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Atsumi Autobots today. Mokule'ia first baseman Josh Whiskin tripled up on the home runs to propel the Oceanic to the 11-1 win at Iacon Yards. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Atsumi manager Koki Fukuda said. "Whiskin hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Whiskin collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Josh Whiskin grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Donald Hanson in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Luis Martínez in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ramón González in the 9th. During the current season Whiskin is batting at a .253 clip with 12 home runs and 25 RBIs. He has played in 28 games and scored 19 times. |
