Bang-up Game: Kim Slams 3 Homers Friday, July 1st , 2039 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Min-chor Kim can celebrate. The Dawson City Gunslingers right fielder powered three into the stands at Sullivan Brothers Stadium today against the Taku Winds. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Kim told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Gunslingers toppled Taku by a score of 12-0, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Dawson City manager Tony Ortíz said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Min-chor Kim hit a solo-shot off Christian Barrett in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Fernando González in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Man-su Hwang in the 7th and walked in the 9th. So far this year, Kim is batting .319 with 14 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
