"I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at Iacon Yards." For the day, Koike collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," Atsumi skipper Koki Fukuda said. "Yugoro really put on a show." Yugoro Koike singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alberto Valéncia in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Alberto Valéncia in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Toby Goacher in the 8th. Currently Koike is hitting .339 and has collected 13 home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 32 times, while playing in 31 games. |
