Castro Cracks 3 HR for Traders Tuesday, August 2nd , 2039 Emílio Castro went on an explosive hitting spree against the Skagway Prospectors at Metros Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Kenai Traders to the 19-3 win. The center fielder finished 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 7 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Castro said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Skagway skipper Takesi Ohayashi said Castro was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Emílio Castro hit a three-run home run off Randy Hynes in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Randy Hynes in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Hollis Wilson in the 6th and walked in the 8th. For the year Castro has hit .218 with 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 15 runs. |
