Rowdy Players Suspended by League Saturday, August 13th , 2039 After an intense confrontation, both the Mahi-Mahi Jesús Sánchez and the Vulcans Manabu Ito were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Maui-Mauna Loa game. Jesús Sánchez will miss 3 games, while Manabu Ito was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jesús Sánchez commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Looking at his present stats, Sánchez has compiled a .208 batting average in 42 games with a .400 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 6 runs. So far this year Ito has 7 saves in 24 relief appearances with a 1-1 record and 4.83 ERA. |
