3-Homer Hat Trick for Bayles Monday, August 22nd , 2039 Fans are still buzzing after Hilo whipped the Shirakawa Halberds by the score of 8-0 today at Hilo Ballpark. John Bayles smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the designated hitter bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 4 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Bayles said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Bayles said. "Three is just... wow." John Bayles hit a solo-shot off Kosaku Ojima in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Orlando Fernández in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Ryu Suzuki in the 6th. In his season totals, Bayles has 25 home runs, .285 BA, .372 OBP, 59 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has played in 64 games. |
