Kawilarang Cracks 3 HRs for Sitka Thursday, September 8th , 2039 Sitka Capitals left fielder Adhamh Kawilarang put on a dazzling display of power today at Lions Ballpark against the Homer Wallbangers. In the 15-8 Capitals victory Kawilarang penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Homer manager Barton Jordan said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Kawilarang said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Adhamh Kawilarang hit a solo-shot off Larry Morrall in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Larry Morrall in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jun-hun Yi in the 9th. A look at his current stats shows Kawilarang with a .181 average, 31 home runs, 58 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has played in 88 games. |
