Mokule'ia-Osakasayama Brawl, Whiskin and García Suspended Monday, September 19th , 2039 Yesterday at Lost Island Ballpark Josh Whiskin and António García got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Mokule'ia Oceanic and Osakasayama Swamp Dragons. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Whiskin will have to sit out 4 while García would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Whiskin is hitting .298 with 40 home runs and 85 RBIs in 95 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .424 with 59 walks and 74 runs scored. For the season García has compiled a 7-5 record with a 3.31 ERA. |
